Hair dressers are doing a beautiful job of mixing last year’s uber-popular trend and tie-dyed tresses. The end result is edgy and completely stylish at the same time. Tie-dyed hair obviously works best on blondes, but that’s nothing that a bit of bleach can’t fix fellows brunettes. When added, the miracle color transforms one’s look in only 15 minutes and works on bleached, dyed and highlighted blonde hair.

How to Dye Your Hair with Food Color

How to Dye Your Hair with Food Color-vitalmag trend magazine2

Coloring Your Hair

Sometimes it is fun to try unusual, unnatural hair colors. Experimenting is even more fun when you don’t have to worry about damaging your hair. Here is some fun and easy ways to try hair color at home without causing damage. These techniques are semi-permanent, will fade out over time, and can easily be removed. Any time you are trying to color your hair something bright or dark, remember that the lighter your hair is, the more the color will stand out. If you have very dark hair, you may want to lighten it with bleach first. If you don’t, the new color will be a less-saturated wash or tint.

How to Dye Your Hair with Food Color-vitalmag trend magazine3

Using Food Coloring

Food coloring is a cheap and easy way to dye your hair fun colors. It is also much less harsh on your hair than store-bought dyes. If you want a temporary option, you will have to use white conditioner. If you want a more permanent option, however, you will need to use developer. The dye will fade faster than most store-bought dyes, but it’s still a great way to get a feel for a certain color without committing to it.

How to Dye Your Hair with Food Color-vitalmag trend magazine

Preparing to Dye Your Hair

Lighten or bleach your hair, if needed. Food coloring is translucent. This means that it only adds to whatever color is already there. If you have dark hair, the dye may not show up at all. If you have light brown or brown hair, the dye will turn out darker. If having a darker tint does not bother you, then you can skip this step.

Be aware that blue may turn out greenish on blond hair, and brownish on brassy hair. If this bothers you, tone your hair to a more neutral color.

What You Will Need:

  •     food coloring
  •     your usual conditioner
  •     a paint brush (to use as a mixer and applicator)
  •     shower cap or plastic bag
  •     a small bowl

How to Dye Your Hair with Food Color-vitalmag trend magazine1

How To Do It:

Add some food coloring. How much you use depends on how dark you want the color to be; the more food coloring you use, the deeper the color will be. Keep in mind that the color will turn out lighter than what is in the bowl. Be sure to use regular liquid or gel food coloring; do not use vegetable-based dyes as they won’t adhere to your hair. For a permanent option, mix 1 tablespoon of food coloring into the developer. Leave the dye two hours. You may want to cover with a shower cap or a plastic bag to prevent stains.

The longer you leave the dye in your hair, the deeper the color will become. Keep in mind that the lighter your hair is, the faster the color will set.

If you are using a developer for a more permanent option, let it sit for about 40 minutes. The longer you leave the dye in your hair, the deeper it will be. If you want a lighter color, leave it on for a shorter period of time.

Wash the dye out with cool water. You can do this over the sink or in the shower. Don’t use shampoo and conditioner, however, or it will remove the color.

Festival Essentials 2017

Festival Essentials 2017-Vitalmag Trend Magazine

The festival season is coming soon, many music lovers and all round party people alike will be descending upon any one (or more) of the best events the music business has to offer this summer. With your tickets purchased, camping gear and ear plugs at the ready, the only thing left is what to wear. So seeing as we will flocking there anyway, might as well flock in style, right?

Festival Essentials 2017-Vitalmag Trend Magazine1

  1. Incorporate trend-tickers with comfortable garb. Biker boots teamed with pretty are always a surefire winner. Glam and grunge make for an easy festival look. Other looks that lends themselves particularly well to the muddy (or sun drenched) fields include boho, vintage and military chic.
  2. Don’t wear sandals. Ever. Speaking from experience, if you don’t mind the dirt. I ‘m pretty sure you would mind the missing (or at the very least, badly bruised) appendages. Flip flops are the worst; keep them for the beach.
  3. Be bag smart. Whereas a fanny pack may not ever be in the running for any type of fashion awards, keeping your essentials safe at all times is a must. Invest in a bag that can keep close to the body and it doesn’t open easily for your money, phone and all important wet wipes.
  4. Don’t take anything valuable. A festival is not a place for your designer shades, one of a kind dresses and heirloom bracelets. When packing an item consider how you would feel if you lost it-if it involves tears, it’s the best leave it home.
  5. Consider the climate. If you festival is in a place where are chances of wet weather are high so team your wellies with faded denim (shirt and shorts-take your pick) and parka for rain-proof chic. If you are heading to a warmer country, make sure you incorporate a hat and a sunnies into your festival wardrobe. Do keep in mind (particularly if you are sleeping in a tent) that temperatures may drop at night, so pack accordingly.
  6. Don’t opt for a high maintenance hairstyle. No matter how careful you promise yourself you are going to be, chances are by the end of the first day you are going to come out looking as if you were dragged through a hedge backwards. Go for easily ,no fuss hair- festivals favourites are messy plaits, shaggy waves and casual updos. If you do fall prey to a frizzy hair disaster, no worry that’s what hats are for.Festival Essentials 2017-Vitalmag Trend Magazine3

7.Do wear makeup. No one wants to look like the exhausted, unwashed mess they doubtlessly are by the end of the weekend, do they? Having said this, keep the makeup simple: Concealer for dark circles, a touch of blusher for a healthy flush, some good waterproof mascara and a dash of colour on the lips. Intelligently  applied makeup will have you looking almost as if you have had a great night’s sleep in no time.
